It's hard to be a Client
[info]boolateh
I am in Marketing, and in my research agency, I go between the ad agency, and my internal clients here, which are the research directors.

It's hard to be the Ad Agency's client because they feel they know MORE than us, thus, they treat you like Client but will push their way with you.  You have to agree to them or get sooooo mad it will drain your blood out of your body.

It's hard to be the "agency-go-between" of the research directors because they want their way ALL THE TIME.  And they are super slow in approving stuff that need to be approved right away.  Then they blame you for the delays.

This sucks!

I was in a ManCom meeting that started 4 hours ago and finished less than an hour ago, and I am arguing again with our ad agency.  Why doesn't the ad agency just accept a final decision AS IS????

I hate it, hate it, hate it!!!!!!

I need to relax.

Maybe surf what's new at eBay.............

Michael Jackson staged an ala Elvis death?
[info]boolateh
There are theories that Michael Jackson staged the same kind of "death" as Elvis Presley.

Blogs like this has surfaced because of many questions on people's minds.

Read this blog:  http://www.michaeljacksonhoaxdeath.com/

"The real Michael Jackson never showed up at that rehearsal the night before his “death” at Staples Center, the dark  video footage that has surfaced showing him chewing gum is NOT the real Michael Jackson, no, but instead, he sent one of his doubles to the rehearsal to just “show up” there for a few minutes. Since the video has been proven a fake by an expert and said to be photoshop “fixed”, we have no proof whatsoever at all that the real Michael Jackson attended the rehearsal at all, but a gum chewing lookalike did instead. Hence: it is safe to assume that the real Michael Jackson made off to a waiting plane and left forevermore goodbye, in all probability so. New information of his secret “departure” from LAX in an unmarked Lear Jet has surfaced, it bears credibility and logic.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, the lookalike decoy was being readied and prepared for the “cardiac arrest” show and the ball began rolling with the 911 call where the caller should have, but did not say “This is Michael Jackson’s residence and Mr. Jackson needs immediate help, please hurry” but instead, very controlled and unemotionally spoke of a “Gentleman” who was “not breathing” ???? All the while the REAL Michael Jackson was long gone to whereever and this explains why the ambulance “patient” photo does not look like nor could possibly be Michael Jackson, right on down to continuous other suspicious and questionable quirks that kept on popping up from all directions, nothing of which CAN possibly add up because the stage was set otherwise from the very beginning, i.e.: the REAL Michael Jackson was long gone, but back in LA the “Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest”-show with the decoy went on as planned, although with some leaks and without top notch planning or “rehearsal” and, for that reason, we arrive and continue to come back to the “nothing adds up” theory and hence are continually being served with more emerging questionables and suspicions stemming from the very beginning of this whole saga.

It is very highly questionable WHY his inner circle close confidantes did not show at the “Memorial” service at Staples: Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Ross, Liza Minelli, Uri Geller and Oprah Winfrey – who scrubbed ALL Michael Jackson data from her website – just to mention these few who come to mind. Why would the Jacksons deny Michael’s beloved friends to attend his “sendoff” ? Instead, an assortment of “fill-ins” showed up, some of which have never even met Michael Jackson and even freely stated so on a popular talkshow, others who had no communication with him personally in years ! Another “staging” ?

Jennifer Hudson’s performance was “backed” by the real Michael Jackson singing, where he, during the spoken monolog of the song she performed, mistakenly substituted the word “PainS” with an S for the original word in the text: “Pain” without an S ! How many viewers noticed this faux pas or …. did not ? Was it a hint, a deliberate “throw it out into the crowd and see who catches it” hint ?"

The details are mind boggling.

Where can I get NOS of these?

(Left to right: Nokia 7280 (black) and Nokia 7380 lipstick phones)

I had a Nokia 7280 before, but I sold it because I wanted a phone that can text well, and I had no spare money.

I wanted to have the 7380, the more improved version with the better camera (2MP) and sexier curves.  It was selling for P 17,000 then.  And the phone at that time were just between P 6,000 to P 10,000 for a new mod. So expensive.

Now, I hope to have a new old stock of these two phones to keep.

And admire.  Tucked in my drawer.

Heehee.

Naughty, naughty me.

:P

Ang hirap maging magulang
[info]boolateh
You love your child, and because you do, you want all good and great things for her.

You give her everything you can, and sometimes reach for something you normally can't because you know, with your love, impossible is nothing.

It comes to a point in your child's life that you have to let her go and experience life for her own good.

I am always a realist when in comes to life, and I am up to the challenge always because I believe, I am given those by God...because I can surpass those challenges and those will make me stronger.

How can I help you dear child?  How would you know life as real if you don't experience it as it is given to you?

I pray that one nearest day, you will realize, that things are better when your feet are grounded and you have become more mature in your outlook of what's real and what's unreal.

I would always be here, don't worry.  Just as the One up above will always be there for us.

Have a little faith in Him.  And have a little faith in yourself.

I pray for your peace.............everyday.

Paris Michael Jackson
[info]boolateh

We tried to watch the memorial of Michael Jackson Live on CNN until 4:30am this morning, but it was so long that we slept and woke up and slept again in between watching TV.

I'm sure a lot of people in the world had the same thing, watching the memorial at Staples Center via their boob tube.  It was a good 5 hours (or more) and it was really worth it.

The most memorable for me, and the most heart wrenching, is when the King of Pop's 11-year old daughter Paris Michael Katherine Jackson gave the final eulogy for her daddy.

"She furtively emerged from the tight circle of family members, who rushed to lower the microphone to her level. And with her uncle Randy on one side and aunt Janet on the other, Jackson's little girl stood center stage.

"I just wanted to say," Paris began weakly.

"Speak up, sweetheart, speak up," Janet encouraged, sweeping the girl's long hair back. "And get close."

Paris put one hand behind her neck, another on the microphone, and began again.

"Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine," she said, her tiny voice cracking.

Rebbie and Marlon Jackson moved in closer to comfort their niece. She shut her eyes tight.

Then she wrapped her hands — little fingernails painted red — around the microphone and fought back tears as she continued:

"And I just wanted to say I love him — so much."

She collapsed in tears into her aunt's arms.

"It's OK, baby. It's OK," Janet Jackson said as she held Paris close. Prince joined in on the hug.

And all at once, Jackson wasn't the larger-than-life King of Pop, or Wacko Jacko the tabloid freak. He was a doting father who had left three adoring young children behind, Michael Joseph Jr. aka Prince Michael (12yo), Paris Michael Katherine (11yo),  and Prince Michael II aka Blanket (7yo).

He was "Daddy."

Don't let the blues get to your Monday
[info]boolateh
Aha! Monday blues.

Here's something to perk you up.

I guess there's none.

I'm sooo bored.

Pag-ibig Fund.....not fun
[info]boolateh
Yesterday was a holiday here in the city.

Funny because as you get older, holiday means doing personal errands, since you get the chance to be off from work.

So I went to Pag-ibig Fund at Atrium today.

Pag-ibig Fund is a loan facility for Filipinos and it gives one of the lowest amortization rates for property.   I got mine at 7% compared to the going bank rate of 11%.   Well, as long as your property is not considered luxury, you can apply the loan with Pag-ibig.

I had to go this month since it is due that I give them a booklet of checks for the next couple of years for the amortization to my house located 30 minutes off the main metro at Eastwood Greenview, Rodriguez Rizal.

This is the my house.  It now has a perimeter bamboo fence and a caretaker family living there since September 2008.

I wish I could have more use of this house...... (thinking really hard)

*********
My day started with my commute riding a jeepney.

And guess what, it had to rain cats and dogs yesterday.

Or maybe, just in this area where I am at?

Reaching the commercial business district turned out to be sunnier than usual, and now its too damned hot!

Atrium, here I am!

It's no joke how bad the system is in these kinds of places.

It took me 3-hours of wait just to give my checks to them!

Grrrrr!!!

I lost my whole day, not considering my lunch, my trip to Nielsen Tower library to look at old Makati pictures (my fave!), my window shopping at Greenbelt, eating nice new dessert, and a late afternoon  trip to the thrift shops of Evangelista.

I was only able to do Pag-ibig today, and boy, I lost all the love for that place waiting.

See them again in 2 years. Thank God.

P.S. Men!  They did not tell me that they would only get 24 checks at a time, I wrote on all my 50 checks, the entire booklet.  Oh well, those checks can be kept for that later use. Bah!

July
[info]boolateh
Wow....so refreshing starting a new month knowing half a year has already gone by.

Looking forward to Christmas.  Hahaha!

How about you?

Our destiny is written
[info]boolateh

Remember the ill-fated Air France flight 447 bound to Paris from Rio de Janeiro, the one that plunged into the Atlantic Ocean last June 1st with 216 passengers and 12 crew members on board?

Well, one supposed passenger escaped being in that airplane.  Her name, Johanna Gallahant.

She did not push through with her trip that day.

Days later, she died in a car accident.

Our destiny is written.

Rest in Peace+ Jacko and Angel
[info]boolateh
June 25, 2009

Two deaths happened today.

Farrah Fawcett, 62yo, succumbed in the morning from a 3-year struggle with anal cancer.

She was not able to marry her long time love, Ryan O'Neal, which was set for this month.

Michael Jackson, 50yo, died suddenly this afternoon from cardiac arrest.

He will not be able to do his last concert, set in London, for July 13.

Two icons from our past.

Two people who touched our lives growing up.

Rest in peace.  You will never be forgotten.

Unusual layouts
[info]boolateh

I love unusual space layouts.

Just as I love small spaces, I am up to the challenge in configuring how to fit everything in such a small area.

Or create more free space to move around.

I came across this website (Tumidei) offering an interesting fix to this situation.

I love the loft rooms!

Check these out.

They look so interesting and so finely engineered.  Tucked in one corner is your whole room.....vertically.

Space is so precious, don't you think?

I love how the elevation works to create platforms for different areas, and to create clever storage.

Wow.

I guess these work with 10-foot high ceilings.

Amazing.

I need to rest my mind
[info]boolateh
I haven't blogged for a few days, and quite a number of days last week since I've been so flooded with so much work.

I hope to ease up my sked in the next few days.

I have to relax a little.  The work drained me up a wee bit more.

Catch you later........

Birthday countdown
[info]boolateh

Turning another year isn't so bad.

In fact, I look forward to turning a year older every year, as though wanting to get to the goal of living a hundred.

Fifty-seven to go. Hmmm....not bad.

I love life.  I live for it.  I enjoy its challenges.  I love how it unexpectedly turns.

I will never get tired of life.

Now, I start this day with a happy heart.  Being with a loved one is always the best.

As well as a bowl of Coffee Crumble ice cream.

Yum-mmmy!!

******
This whole week was a birthday week with a Tuesday dinner treat from Paola at Felix in Greenbelt 5.

The place was fabulous, and our entrees were really special!

Their specialties....

The Feliciano, award winning adobo with kesong puti...
 and the

Floring, crispy pork belly with taro leaves in coconut cream......mmmmm!!
  Fabulous!!!

The next day, Paola and I had lunch at Sumosam in Shangri-La.

Then the day after that, Ray Jay, Paola and I had dinner at Cyma in Greenbelt 2.

Opah! Greek food at its finest!

I had to bring Paola early to the airport the following day, Friday, for her trip to SIngapore.  I had to go straight to work too since we have a big event brewing at work.

Thank God it was a Friday!

********
Ahh.....Saturday, woke up late for my birthday and I've gotten numerous birthday greetings via text, and more on Facebook. Wow!  The wonders of technology!

And so, hubby woke me up at noon and it was a relaxing start of the day with the Coffee Crumble ice cream.  Hahaha!  I had that instead of a cake.  It was sooo good!

We headed off to Greenbelt 5 for a late lunch at Mesa.

We had the Duck with Pesto Rice, Crispy Tilapia, and Ostrich cooked in Wine.  It is fab-u-lous!!!

Perfect comfort food.  And the place is great!

Now, how old do I look?

Take a guess....

Oh really???!!!  Nah, take your last guess.

 (Hahahaha.......not quite.)

I had a really grand day.

Hubby and I capped the day with a healthy dinner at Chimara, at the theatre level of Greenbelt 3.

I thank God for my life and all the blessings I have.

Till next year!

xoxo

Ode to odd
[info]boolateh

I love odd things.  If I had a choice, I would make my house upside down.

Like this.

Maybe in a weirder tilt and color.

Furnish it like this.

Polish inventors Klaudiusz Golos and Sebastian Mikiciuk have created this, just to do something different.  Neat.

Or maybe do something small scale.

Buy a cllimbing chair like this.

This was made by artist Lila Jang for the 2007 contemporary art exhibition Parcours Saint Germain in Paris.

I want this one in hot pink.

These odd things make me happy.

Odd is beautiful, don't you think so?

Bagged it!
[info]boolateh

It's beautiful!  I love it!

(LV Keepall 45)

I've always liked big bags, need to put in a lot of stuff everyday.

I just need to get a base shaper for this.

WIll get it in action this weekend....whoopeee!!

I miss New York City
[info]boolateh
I just do. I love watching the tall skyscrapers from the street.

And have always dreamed of, one day, seeing it from the top.

I miss you.

I heart you.

I love New York.

 Hope to see you again................soon.

Goodbye analog...hello digital TV!
[info]boolateh
Today marks the final broadcast of analog TV signals in the U.S., June 12, 2009.

It marks 60 years of analog TV entertainment.  It helped transform TV to what it is today.

Hats off to analog TV as it rides off into the static sunset.

Digital TV begins today!

(Thanks YouTube!)

I'm pissed
[info]boolateh
I bought a ticket months ago at Cebu Pacific Air thinking that the promo then was unbelievable already.

Imagine, to my chargrin, they are currently having a promo now for less than my purchase of a Manila-Singapore-Manila trip for August!

Sige na nga, isipin ko nalang, bayad na yung trip ko with my credit card!  At least...

Grrrrrrrrrrr..

Too busy!
[info]boolateh

I missed 3 days blogging because I was too busy.

After that Friday shoot, I was too busy last weekend doing something else and going somewhere else.

Saturday, hubby and I went to Ikea store in Makati City to buy some lamps that I have seen in Hongkong last December but failed to buy.  Now I have two.  One in pink and the other in white.

I so love these!  They're perfect with our aqua wall.

I wanted to buy several other things at the shop and wished I made the trip to Ikea HongKong or the one in New Jersey when we were planning our home.  Oh well, maybe I will just renovate one room at a time.

Off to Greenhills we went after.  I wanted to buy a new wallet or a bag, but I guess, I will defer that for next week.  Or this weekend, maybe.

Sunday was pretty relaxing.  Hubby and I decided to do something different so we went to TriNoma.  We wanted to look if things were different from the last time we visited, that is, when it just opened.

 (image from beaufort)

I love the Starbucks there with the mist and water feature in front, and a wooden walkway  It's a perfect place to lull your afternoon with a good friend, a loved one, or a possibility (wink!).

Coffee?? Probably next time around.  I don't want to hurry with my coffee.

Before I knew it, the Monday rush was here and I was running up and down the walls where I work because I had to finish a million tasks before the day ends.  My D-Day is less than 2 weeks!

My day ended abruptly at 9:18pm at work because everyone left me and I think I got spooked.

Haha!

Now I'm back to working overtime.  And it's a Tuesday............already!!!! Aaaargh!!
